Excellent TV from Panasonic

Panasonic VIERA TC-P42G25 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV



Although I actually have been operating within the AV business for several years I actually have been holding back - seen plenty of feature hype and hoopla elapse however this can be the primary flat screen plasma I liked with a value that was cheap. 


For one or two of years currently I actually have been yearning for an HDTV with wide viewing angels - worked well in dark or well lit area while not an excessive amount of reflection - wealthy correct color copy - Works well with games or sports motion - works well with over the air/cable SD signals or SD DVD play back - simple use - straightforward break in - Minimal probability of image retention - Multiple input/outputs - cheap value. 


We have had our 42G25 currently for many weeks and are very happy with our alternative - did need to get the part cables for our Wii that improved the image quality fairly well for an SD video game. we have a tendency to additionally purchased a Panasonic Bluray player with the TV it works nicely with SD or Bluray playback - The TV's THX certified image setting is extremely pleasing and color correct for movies - i exploit the Custom setting for over the air and cable TV watching with a couple of minor adjustment tweaks I got wonderful results. each the TV and player have web skills - I actually have used utube to this point works fine. additionally i used to be simply able to updated the firmware for each TV and player. Bought a Mini DVI to HDMI adapter to use my a pair of yr. previous MacBook pc works fine @ 1920x1080p resolution streaming Hulu etc. there's an RGB port on the TV however solely lower resolutions work - since RGB is proscribed anyway i'd use the HDMI port if your pc is 1080p capable. The sound may be a very little on the tinny facet on behalf of me however my wife does not appear to mind it personally I typically use the AV amplifier when watching TV or Movies. The TV remote is straightforward to use and lights up. The BR player remote is additionally straightforward use however doesn't light undecided i buy that - it makes it terribly awkward to use within the dark. therefore I simply place everything on our Sony universal 2100 remote and also the wife was happy controlling all sources with one bit screen remote that lights up. 


One last item - i am keeping a watch on the alleged "rising black levels" however I actually have not notice something nonetheless. i will repost if something comes up. but I do suggest this TV to all or any it is a sensible worth, sharp correct image and an excellent product. 


UPDATE 11/17/10 I promised to administer an update if I noticed any alleged "rising black levels" Well i have to have one or two of thousand hours on the set currently and haven't been able to detect something important. The black levels currently look a similar because the day I purchased the TV. I ran a couple of straightforward tests the day I bought the set and simply the opposite day (won't bore you with details) to this point the black level tests in comparison are a similar. I do expect there'll eventually be some minor rise in black levels however this can be true of most plasma sets anyway as a result of phospher life and inbuilt bios changes - yawn - yawn etc. etc. -- however were talking thousands of hours here and years of viewing time. nonetheless at a similar time if there are any changes I expect them to be terribly minor not therefore noticeable by the naked eye when viewing TV or Movie content.
